Dear Friends,
It is hard to believe that this journey that I embarked upon over six months ago has come to an end! And, what a journey it has been! From climbing the steep slopes of Killington Mountain for 14+ miles and over 5000 vertical feet with dozens of obstacles along the way at the Spartan Beast last September to the 39.3 miles of the Goofy Race-and-a-Half Challenge this past weekend, it has been one of the most enriching experiences of my life. Running is an activity that has never been one of my strengths. That’s why a series of strenuous running events was the perfect choice for this fundraiser!

Last Saturday was my first half-marathon road race and last Sunday was my first full marathon. Each was an accomplishment that I will carry with me forever. If you had asked me a year ago if I could physically complete a marathon, I would have said “no” without hesitation. Today, I only want to run more and for many years to come. I will forever be grateful for that.

But, what is much more exciting is that the journey started over twelve years ago will continue to grow thanks to all of you who have so generously donated to Peak Potential (www.peakclimb.org). With over $6000 raised so far for the Run for Peak fundraiser, we have already surpassed our initial goal of $5000! That means that we have raised enough to fund the entire indoor climbing program for 2013 and the additional funds will help to provide more outdoor climbing days for children with physical disabilities! I am forever in the debt of so many people for generous donations, valuable time volunteered, and much needed kind words of support along the way. I apologize if I have not had a chance to personally say thank you to each and every one of you. It was definitely not from a lack of appreciation. Because of many of you, many more children with disabilities will have the opportunity to experience rock climbing, an activity that can truly change lives.

If you haven’t already done so and would still like to make a tax-deductible donation to Peak Potential, checks payable to Peak Potential, Inc. can be sent to:
